Ethical Guidlines

Fastlane Journal believes in the greatest standards of research ethics, academic integrity and responsible publication. Every stakeholder in the publication process such as the authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow ethical principles that guarantee credibility, transparency, and trustworthiness of the research that we publish.

Author Responsibilities

The authors have to make sure that their manuscripts are original, precise, and devoid of plagiarism. Any sources should be referenced accordingly and the use of a work that has been published before should be done accordingly. The authors must also declare any competing or financial interests on which the research might be subject to. In case of experiments with human subjects or animals, the authors are to adhere to the applicable ethical standards and seek the required permissions of institutional review boards or ethics committees.

Reviewer Responsibilities

The reviewers should make objective, unbiased, and constructive assessments. They should exercise high levels of confidentiality when handling the manuscripts they are reviewing and should state any possible conflict of interest before undertaking a review assignment. The information that the reviewers get should not be used to their own personal or professional benefit.

Responsibilities of Editor and Editorial Board

The editorial board members and the editors should treat all the manuscripts without any form of conflict of interest. In any manuscript where an editor has a personal or professional conflict, he or she should be reassigned to another qualified editor. The role of the editors is to protect confidentiality, control the peer review process, and to make decisions according to the scholarly merit of every submission.

Publication Ethics

Fastlane Journal adheres to the standards accepted by the international community, such as those of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). This involves the prevention and treatment of:

Plagiarism, self- plagiarism and redundant publication.
Manipulation, falsification or fabrication of data.
Submission to different journals.
Authorship, contribution, or affiliation misrepresentation.

Any misconduct claims are followed up and could lead to either rejection, retraction, or amendment of published work.

Accountability and Transparency

The journal makes sure that all manuscripts are vetted based on well established editorial and peer review policies. The integrity, transparency and accountability in the publication process are a challenge that is championed by authors, reviewers and editors.

Fastlane Journal believes in ethical research and publications practices in all the areas that it is involved in and therefore it encourages trust, credibility, and academic excellence within the international research community.
